We all know getting a break is rare... uncommon...even impossible at times when you have children. More so when you have 6 of them, and homeschool them, and your husband works out of town frequently. Well for the first time in many many years I took a weekend off. Went to Dallas to celebrate the birthday of a great friend. I had drinks, sang Karaoke and just hung out and had a great break. I did come away from the weekend with a realization that family is NOT who you are related to, friends are not the people you think they are sometimes. It's disappointing to see someone with a genuine heart who is a fabulous person not have their blood family participate in an important day just out of selfishness and laziness. But I regress, It's the people who stand by you always, who tell you the truth, who won't sugar coat all the bullshit just to placate you, those are your family. That's who matters. If everyone around you always agrees with you and tells you things are great and they never push you to be better, they are NOT your friend at all. RUN.....
But for the first time in decades I totally sang Karaoke... poor poor unsuspecting audience..
