And the Romper Strikes again...

Well ok A romper does. This is a different pattern. I actually like the overall fit of this one better and its a very very fast sew. You can find the pattern HERE. Once again I did use the same hat pattern. The hat is SOOOOO fast and its too cute. I used a nice light weight stretch denim from Fabric.com and woven fabric from Riley Blake to both the romper and the hat. Then the snaps are Kamsnaps in size 20. These happen to be engraved with fire engines, which is the perfect little touch. My little model was quick enough to pose on the merry go round. and YES I have more fabrics and your little man can so get a cute little romper and hat :)

And of course we've spent the day dying some eggs. Because cleaning messes is my favorite past time.

Romping around...

Well in a romper anyhow lol. I did alter the pattern by cutting a piece in the front to insert a smocked panel. but the pattern itself is great. I used the Royal Prince George pattern by Ola Jane patterns for this one. I did also grab a cute little Hat pattern by Puperita to match. Fabrics are from Riley Blake, always a favorite here. I just do not like cheap fabric. It's icky feeling I just do not like sewing icky fabric. But with the girls getting smocked bishop dresses I truly had to make something with some smocking for the littler monkey. He is quite the poser. LOVES modeling lol.

Also had gestational diabetes test today. Lord let me pass I do NOT wanna do the 3 hour one ugh. And the contractor came and measured the porch so about to make that into a sunroom -- aka using as another bedroom cause I am trying to make this house work for a few more years. I have looked, I have toured, buying a house is never gonna work at this point. I need to design my house and have it built but we are a few years off from that.

Diapering babies..

I use cloth diapers. I really really prefer fitted diapers and wool. I do use some pul diapers but its not my favorite. I have tremendous collection of hand knit wool pants and shorts and soakers for the baby. Kel currently sports them as well. These diapers I have been sewing are made with bamboo velour I ice dyed ... well the tie dye ones. Omg so beautiful. So squishy soft!!

Theseare either snapless fitteds or what are referred to as preflats. They are prefols without extra center padding, same thickness throughout. But you can pair lovely doublers to add more in the center area when needed. Both options require pinning.

Which I do with METAL HEAD LOCKING PINS!! Oh those things are hard as all get out to get now. Apparently since the metal heads are painted the regulations now in the US state to sell them here one must certify they are lead tested. This is not something any manufacturer is likely to bother doing on an item that sells such a small quantity in the country. I got some anyhow... through other channels.

But my take is WHY is anyone letting their child walk around chewing a diaper pin??? And if my child manages to chew one WHILE WEARING IT... well then lead is the least of my concerns we'll be joining up with the circus.
