Romping around...

Well in a romper anyhow lol. I did alter the pattern by cutting a piece in the front to insert a smocked panel. but the pattern itself is great. I used the Royal Prince George pattern by Ola Jane patterns for this one. I did also grab a cute little Hat pattern by Puperita to match. Fabrics are from Riley Blake, always a favorite here. I just do not like cheap fabric. It's icky feeling I just do not like sewing icky fabric. But with the girls getting smocked bishop dresses I truly had to make something with some smocking for the littler monkey. He is quite the poser. LOVES modeling lol.

Also had gestational diabetes test today. Lord let me pass I do NOT wanna do the 3 hour one ugh. And the contractor came and measured the porch so about to make that into a sunroom -- aka using as another bedroom cause I am trying to make this house work for a few more years. I have looked, I have toured, buying a house is never gonna work at this point. I need to design my house and have it built but we are a few years off from that.

Diapering babies..

I use cloth diapers. I really really prefer fitted diapers and wool. I do use some pul diapers but its not my favorite. I have tremendous collection of hand knit wool pants and shorts and soakers for the baby. Kel currently sports them as well. These diapers I have been sewing are made with bamboo velour I ice dyed ... well the tie dye ones. Omg so beautiful. So squishy soft!!

Theseare either snapless fitteds or what are referred to as preflats. They are prefols without extra center padding, same thickness throughout. But you can pair lovely doublers to add more in the center area when needed. Both options require pinning.

Which I do with METAL HEAD LOCKING PINS!! Oh those things are hard as all get out to get now. Apparently since the metal heads are painted the regulations now in the US state to sell them here one must certify they are lead tested. This is not something any manufacturer is likely to bother doing on an item that sells such a small quantity in the country. I got some anyhow... through other channels.

But my take is WHY is anyone letting their child walk around chewing a diaper pin??? And if my child manages to chew one WHILE WEARING IT... well then lead is the least of my concerns we'll be joining up with the circus.

And now the Smocking!

Yup - I smock too. Why not lol. I have actually been pretty busy putting together customer websites, surviving a plague... OMG we had like a near death few weeks here for the lot. Which is why I haven't blogged a ton. But with no further ado here below is a lovely smocked bishop dress with angel sleeves and a nice pair of bloomers to coordinate- well don't forget the head band!

And as anything goes around here Kel insisted on having his photo made as well. He has the most devious smile lord help him. He really always looks like he is up to no good.

This pregnancy is definitely more tiring than any before. But, I am almost 35... in May :(

So I suppose I should expect to be more exhausted. Just in case you are wondering YES you can order smocked bishop dresses in any size from 0-6 month up to size girls 14. I have a large selection of wonderful Riley Blake fabrics in stock.

Have an OB apt. Thursday. The Gestation Diabetes test. Yay... Not looking forward to that thing at all. I have not been eating sugary foods for a year. So I can pretty much guess the test will make me feel like crap.
